Outfit+Pillow Pairing

How often do you look at your outfit and think, “I match my decor today”? I know the clothes I wear most are in the same color palette that I tend to use in my home. Blue, white, black, tan, warm brown.

Last night when I was scrolling through some clothing sites, a top caught my eye, not because it was something I’d necessarily wear, but because it reminded me of a Les Indiennes block print pillow. I’ve loved Les Indiennes, for a long time. To me, their prints are timeless and go with so many different styles.

For fun, I put together an outfit with coordinating pillows.

ONE Eyelet Top

TWO Jeans

THREE Booties

FOUR Block Print Pillow

FIVE Indigo Pillow

SIX Leather Pillow

I’ve heard interior designers say that they take cues from the way people dress when designing spaces. I wouldn’t be mad to end up with a room with some of the elements below.

ONE Sofa

TWO Side Table

THREE Rug

FOUR Block Print Pillow

FIVE Indigo Pillow

SIX Leather Pillow

SEVEN Faux Olive Tree

Black and White Christmas

The Christmas season is right around the corner. I’m not ready to decorate yet, but that doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about it. There are so many amazing ideas out there. Each year, I like to mix it up a little bit without spending a lot of money. I have a few things that I store year to year, but I don’t have a lot of storage space, so I don’t have a lot of Christmas decor.

A few years ago I really loved a black and white Christmas theme. But I had the hardest time finding black and white ribbon/ornaments/decor. Now it is everywhere. Here’s a few pictures that inspired me.

February 2018 Visiting Teaching

“Visiting teaching is about sincerely coming to know and love each sister so that we can help strengthen her faith and give service.”

What a great blessing visiting teaching can be! It has always been a pleasure for me to get the chance to know new sisters through visiting teaching.

Visiting Teaching January 2018

I’ve spent a long time considering how I can post something for visiting teaching with the changes to the visiting teaching program. As I have reflected on the information in the Ensign for this month, I have thought a lot about the women that I’ve been assigned to visit teach. Ways that they are amazing and unique, things I love about each one, what their individual needs are, and ways I can help them.

As we all consider how to minister to our sisters, I hope we can reflect on how much we love each one, what her particular needs are, and how we can individually serve in meaningful ways.

I created a little worksheet to help me as I prayerfully reflect on how to minister to each one. If you think it would be helpful to you, I hope you will print them and fill them in with your thoughts.

I love this thought from the Ensign, “Making personal connections and listening with an attitude of love is the essence of visiting teaching.”

Christmas Tablescape and Printable

Merry Christmas friends!

We are looking forward to a fun-filled few days. These some of my favorite days of the year. Spent with my favorite people.

This year I created a tablescape with some of my favorite things.

Little houses are one of my most favorite things. I love Christmas villages of all shapes and sizes.

Oh Holy Night is definitely my favorite Christmas song.

The most special thing about Christmas is the focus on the Savior. When I try to turn my heart more often to Him and the peace and joy He brings to me.

Wishing you peace and joy this Christmas. May it be filled with all of your favorites.

These simple Christmas carol printables can be used on a holiday table, hung from a Christmas tree, or strung on a string to create a banner for a mantle.

Christmas Gift Wrap Tags Printable

Is your Christmas wrapping done yet? I’d say I am about 90% done. There are a still a few last minute things and stocking stuffers I need to buy and wrap.

Wrapping can be a chore when there is a lot to do at once.

I’ll admit, “Santa presents” get a super basic wrap job at my house. But I like to take my time with gifts for family and friends and make it a little special while keeping it simple.

I love these tags. I just printed them on craft paper, cut them out, and added a bit of twine.

Happy wrapping friends!

Favorite Things October 2017

Here are a few of my favorite things from the past month.

1-Kut from the Kloth denim jacket
This denim jacket is so comfortable. Usually when I get home, I change immediately into a baggie, cozy sweatshirt and joggers. Yesterday I wore this jacket around the house ALL.DAY.LONG. I even did housework while wearing it. It is cute and comfortable.

2-Metal Kids’ Chairs
I bought these chairs with the coordinating table from Target for our upstairs play area. They are so sturdy and pretty dang adorable!

3&4-First Aid Beauty Serum and Ultra Repair Cream
These two products have been a miracle for me. They have helped heal my Retin-A parched face. In fact, every product I have tried from this brand is a keeper.

5-Madewell Roadtripper Jeans
I heard these jeans were for people who hate skinny jeans. ME! ME! ME! (See number 1 above). I really like the higher waist on these and they are stretchy and soft. And I can almost forget I’m wearing skinny jeans (until I can get home and change into my sweats).
